Amiga is a different beast/story [than the 8bitters like C64] because neither 50 nor 60Hz is actually PAL (nor NTSC) in correct terms. PAL or NTSC encoding has to be done externally (at least to video generating chip) if needed, and not having to fiddle with timings helps a lot with that. And the fact that Amiga output is also "genlockable" made the doors to video/TV studios wide open. The 64 has to be either PAL or NTSC due to the fact that the integral, internal hardware encodes colour into chroma line and one can't put his fingers on any other form of the signal. Don't know how it is done in the 65 but I'd expect it to be closer to the Amiga way than to the 64/264/any VICII equipped computer way. Someone who knows will correct me if I am wrong here.
