I agree. But you asked the question, so I gave the answer.

Apparently the latest incarnation, the 'SwinSID Ultimate' does actually 
have the full functionality of a SID.

And in my opinion it is a good thing to have this project being improved 
and worked on and available as an alternative - because the danger with 
recycling old SIDs is that unfortunately there is no real guarantee that 
any SID you buy will not have one or more dead channels...
