?Sorry? The article at http://c128.com/comment/539#comment-539 ??

The article mentions that I replaced the transformer (as the old one may have been damaged) with a multi-tap. Also explains how it's mounted (with nyloc screws to remove the possibility of them working loose). The transformer features in the photographs in the linked article. It's wired straight through to the 9VAC lines, and the 240V line input is bifurcated and also feeds the 5V switchmode PSU.

There are a many more photographs at https://www.flickr.com/photos/callidae/albums/72157630236020048

Obviously; so you still have a separate transformer that's not shown/mentioned in your write-up?

No - the 9V floats. (on the 250407 at least) the bridge rectifier CR4 for the secondary 5V supply (which runs from the 9VAC supply) already has a ground reference, and I didn't think it a good idea to have a second.\

I didn't see much detail about the 9VAC; is one side common with the 5VDC ground?

FWIW, I in a short 1 evening project gutted and repopulated a C64 PSU with a modern switchmode supply, and it was an unqualified success.

A write up of it can be found HERE.
