I'd check the computer first with a 1541. I've been using a C-16 for quite a
while, and last times (better said -- for also quite a while) I had problems
with the serial interface circuitry (maybe the 7406?). It sometimes simply
stopped working, just hanged while loading something or even a directory
(drive keeps on rotating forever effect :-/ ). I never fixed it, at the time
I had some opportunity to obtain a used / bad Plus/4, fixed it and continued
using that one. Chances are that it's the C-16 playing up with you.
