I guess a company who have invested in a working (well) environment
are reluctant to invest more money into a different environment. The
software itself may be free, but the installation and support will
cost employee time and thus money.

However, it is reported that an increased number of major companies
are getting fed up with Microsoft's new licensing strategies and
sincerely look for alternatives when an update is scheduled.

Ok. Maybe Ruud is skilled enough to support his own operating system
and applications, but the company might not want to hand over the
responsibility from technicians to other employees. Someone would still
need to keep track what system is used where in case of a major security
flaw or other less obvious failures happening.
