No, chip replacement is overkill.
Just get yourself a SuperSnapshot cartridge. That way you can reset the
computer without disturbing contents of RAM. You can choose to fill memory
with a default pattern or use the ML monitor to fill with your own pattern.
Really just about any cartridge with an ML monitor should have similar
function. Don't forget that BASIC must initialize some RAM in low memory
just to work.
