There's a great way to learn Lisp that, I think, will run on
classic C= hardware

Infocom _did_ produce a "z5" interpreter.  It's one of the later
ones.  In any case, lists.z5 is a Lisp tutorial wrapped up in
the framework of a text adventure.  I've run through it, top to
bottom.  You _can_ learn the rudiments of Lisp with it.
