new/old vic-II replace?

Hi,

Does anybody know if  the 8565 VIC chip replaceable with an old
version 6569? I know that the old one needs +12V as the Vdd power,
but I can't see any other different. All the other pins are the same.
So if I replace the 8565 with the 6569 and give the +12V as Vdd, will it
work?
