8250LP - fault, how to fix?

Hi,

As per the subject, I've just picked up one of these drives in excellent
cosmetic condition. Trouble is, the LEDs flash red - 5 times, pause, 5
times, etc.

According to the FAQ, this means:

"Zero Page - 6530, K3, 6504, H3"

Unfortunately, I've not a clue what this means....

The 710 I had the drive hooked up to hangs if you try to access any disk
functions (e.g. ds$, diR, run/stop, etc.). I've verified using a different
drive (8050) that both the 710 and the connectors are in fine fettle. Also,
the drive flashes away when not connected to anything...

I've tried re-seating all the pluggable chips, both on the mainboard & the
little daughterboard. All to no avail.

I'm *guessing* that maybe an EPROM's gone wonky on me? OTOH, that is just a
guess, and I've not a clue where to go from here. So, any help most
gratefully accepted!

Thanks in advance!
