Ahhhh!  Not WD-40 - it's a penetrating oil and so-so lubricant, not
contact cleaner.  It will help for a while, then the residues will
attract more crud and you'll have to bathe it again.

Places like Radio Shack used to sell contact cleaner.  You might
have to go to a stereo shop (not a discount store) to find it now,
but it's the right thing to use.
