Yes, except that the PC64 cable is not supported on machines that do not
have a user port (264 and B series).

Yes, but you might want to develop a little simpler protocol (as the
circuit won't then have a third computer (the AT90S2313 microcontroller)
in the middle) or alter the speed (which is currently fixed to 38400 bps).
