What you It's just the other way around: The Amiga 8520 is normally not fast enough for use in 1570/71/81 drives, you need the 2MHz version, the 8520A. The CIA in the Amiga is clocked at about 700kHz, IIRC. But the 6526 probably doesn't belong in there, someone put it in as a replacent. I don't know what the TOD clock / binary counter is used for in the Amiga, but I guess you lose some functionality by using a 6526.
