Just found a nice surprise: I kept the vectors starting from $FF81 and all routines connected to them. The BASIC command OPEN starts at $E1B1, collects some info from BASIC and executes the "open a file" at $FFC0. The same happens with the BASIC command CLOSE. So I only have to provide the name and some numbers and I'm ready to go. The Kernal reserved ten bytes for a "logical file table". I simply reserve one entry permanently for checking if files exist (or what ever) so I don't have to spend time and code on finding out if I can reserve an entry for "my" needs. -- Kind regards / Met vriendelijke groet, Ruud Baltissen www.Baltissen.orgReceived on 2026-07-12 10:00:02
