if you want to do it on original equipment (standard 1541, 1570, 1571,
4040, ...) with the help of a PC, then nibtools comes to mind:

You need an xum1541 device (like the ZF), though. If you read it on a
1570 or 1571, you can even git rid of the parallel connection that is
needed with a 1541, so I would say this is the preferrable setup.
