can you make the 901244-01 kernal work with 901242-01/901243-01 basic? with
the -02 basic it seems to work, but then it crashes when using save/load :)

Knowing what to optimize matters as much as knowing how to optimize.
Otherwise, you'll optimize the wrong thing, and end up with really fast slow
code.
