I'm not sure what you mean by "block" - could that be char (position) - I
think - or ???

As one cpu clock cycle equals 8 pixels on the vertical beam position - it is
quite imposiible to time a store instruction within the 8 sub pixels that a
block/char consists of...

And when the whole point with the demo is to shift the colors to make
vertical color splits on the screen - I see no workaround... :-)
