that would be even possible with a 1541. It's very easy to modify it so
it uses the 4040 intra-sector gap of 8 GCR byte (= 10 raw byte) instead of the 1541
gap (= 9 raw byte, or 8 for the older ROMs and the 1540).

Thinking about it, one could use it to experiment about the problems
that arise from the different sizes.
