It was just about if the earlier method of dividing could be not compatible
with the later one, with the 8701.

What would be interesting to see, and maybe it's easier then I think, is if
the 8701 or its replacements could be adapted to those earlier boards.

Or maybe that earlier boards circuits were more reliable than the 8701
itself, that seems to be, happens to fail more than desired - if anyone
actually desired them to fail.
