see CIA/shiftregister/cia-sdr-icr ... i am not sure how to convert this to a
drive test. perhaps can you make a new program that samples a few selected
spots which are known to be different for the different variants.

it also looks like we even have more than one "misbehaving" variant - see
hednings result on the tracker: https://sourceforge.net/p/vice-emu/bugs/1219/
- his CIA is NOT 4485, but it fails _some_ of the tests that are expected to
pass. args. i think i'll also have to expand that program so it lets you save
the dump for further analysis :)
