Actually the VIC-20 had at least three different keyboard mechanisms,
which fairly well can be identified by the keycaps. First you had the
"PET style" keyboard with wide letters in the Microgramma font. This
actually is a PET keyboard mechanism where some holes for the numeric
keyboard are taped shut on the underside, and a Shift Lock switch from
one of those keyboards should fit perfectly. Now those VIC's are quite
uncommon to find in spare parts form.

The second model is the "Eurostile" keyboard. Compared to the most
common "Helvetica" style keyboard you'll find on C64s and the majority
of VICs, the Eurostile has different plungers. Possibly the C64C
introduced yet another type of plunger, besides a different graphic
layout on the keycaps.

Now that I think about it, I've still got a white PET business keyboard
with 10 keys missing but intact Shift Lock. I just took it apart, and
the switch seems to work as it should. I could send it to you for 5 EUR
including shipping. Send me a private mail with your address details in
that case.

Best regards
