Yes, that is how I used it. To be honest I never tried to access the 
1541 while it already was busy. Like Jim writes, it might lead to 
interesting results unless the wiki you linked to is correct and the 
drive really refuses a second connection while it is in operation. I 
suppose only trial and error will tell what really works.
