Because at at least two places the BIOS clears the complete memory. 
It also does some have testing of the PIC and DMA, thus stopping the 
refresh at that moment. Next thing: what happens when inserting the 
VGA card. This means that at one moment the BIOS will start the 
initialisation of the VGA. I wonder what will happen to screen 
during and after that moment.

I'll go for the replace option I mentioned before. But being busy 
rebuilding the kitchen, I have other tings on my mind now :)
