If you are always going to switch back to 6509 mode to run rom code and
you will always switch from 816 mode to the previous 6509 mode
(including any oddities of irq/nmi/reset) then hiding them seems reasonable.

That may require a trampoline to call from 816 to 6509 in another bank,
but it's doable as long as there is ram there. Although in 816 mode you
won't know what bank the 6509 is currently setup to use & will have to
make assumptions
