It's been something on my "if I never had to worry about money again" 
list for years.

There is a hardware workaround for the 6522 bug which you could apply to 
the 1541.

Then hack the 1571 rom to hell, squeezing it into 16k if possible but 
likely requiring a 32k rom mod.

You'll be missing 2mhz mode & MFM.

It would be truly awesome in a "what have I done" way.
