Definitely not. I wrote a program 20 years ago that accessed MFM disks
on a 1570 from the C64. I did not have enough expertise to read standard
Pc disks, but it updated the first sectors with disk layout information
and appropriate FAT so that MS-DOS could use the disk with 128 byte sectors.
