Is the SW stored in an EPROM? $89DB and $89D9 differ in one bit only. If
the "0" is not read correctly anymore, it can show up as a "1", that's
typical for EPROMs.

Oh, and it also typical for EPROMs if they are used with less voltage
than they should have.
