2001 repair help

Hi friends,
I have a 2001 board that works great, but I have a asterisk at $8200 on the
screen after startup.
If I poke to $8000 it also changed $8200. I changed the video ram, but that
has no effect.
All postions before and after $8200 are ok.
Any ideas...???
