yes, it's very slow to "decide" that a disk is single sided and start
reading it correctly, but it didn't fail to read 1541 disks so far
(after fixing the mechanical problems).

yes, I meant to ask about -05, my fingers slipped on the 4 ;-)
Thanks for the suggestion! Since the 128D isn't mine, I'll ask the
owner if he wants me to upgrade it.
I assume that a normal 27256 EPROM would work  in place of the
original ROM, but I'll check the schematics anyway.
