I think its impossible to put the adapter with the ICs fully in the cage,
because on the MAX pcb below the adapter the electronic parts are too high.
You have to change some parts on the MAX board to smaller versions and you
cannot use sockets for the ics.
I think it's not a problem - the vic2 survives without cooling ;)
I have about 10 c64 - some without the cage/cooling - and I never had a dead
vic2. I only had dead PLAs and some SIDs...

If someone wants to design a pcb, I can send the eagle schematics-file...
