It's rather OT here. Generally it's also related to what you wrote below about the screen sizes. While the new one looks much more fresh (the original one was like straight from the early nineties when patterned bacgkrounds, rotating gifanims or jumping arrows and first JS statusbar scrolls ruled the web :-) the important part these days is to adapt to various screen sizes and various browsers gracefully. It's not only about the line length. It's about making sure that things don't line break when they shouldn't or when they do that they don't break the layout, etc.

I guess we can continue off the list if you like.
