Great! Can you test if the internal drive is working reliably [*] if (a)
the cable is inserted into the C65, but the external drive is not
connected on the other end, and (b) if the external drive is connected
but not turned on?

[*] For testing the internal drive, I created a 64 kB SEQ file and used
the COPY command to read and write a copy of the file on the same
diskette. That amounts to almost 270 sector reads and writes.
