Hallo allemaal,

And here lays my concern. I already have five different C64 Kernal versions: 01, 02, 03, SX and GS. And JiffyDOS will become #6. I can use 01 as base and then I can create a branch that will become 02. And I can go so on and on. The case: working on version X I notice an error in a comment string common to every version. My question: what should I do to make sure this error is repaired in every version? Is it just a matter of changing the base file?

Remark: writing the above I can imagine it is doable. Something like GIT only saves the differences between the various branches/forks or whatever. The moment you change something, GITs take care of recreating the files using the changed base file and applying all the differences.

Regarding the second problem, the various assemblers, I'm afraid that will remain a problem. Main reason: hardly anyone will give up his own favorite. It would be like asking Marko, Micha³, Patryk and me to start to talk only English at home :)
The only solution is IMHO to stick to one assembler format _PLUS_ a tool that enables one to convert the source code into the one's favorite format. The question: what should be the format?

Anyway, I'm working on a tool that converts my main files into ones for 64tass, XA and CA65.
