That would be great. I am doing it on a PIC but the C code should not be 
that much different, so it is much appreciated.

I am not sure how SPI would handle 9 bit transfers (the "1" start bit is 
necessary) but it is an idea. For now I am just bit-banging it and it 
works :-)
