Not sure what you mean here. You cannot dump it anyway before falling 
back to "normal" mode, because any read to the ROM area would result in 
a PCx access, right?

Interestingly, on this list we had a similar discussion almost two years 
ago ("6500/1 ROM" starting Sep 16, 2012), where I assumed that such a 
"release on jump" mechanism might exist.

It looks like none of us since then found the time setting up some sort 
of test rig ...
