I bought this

(overpriced IMHO) converter as I wanted to convert the s-video output from a 64 into component video for use with component only devices. I got positively surprised with the quality of the conversion (practically no noticeable quality loss). Nice colours, good sharpness. But…

the screen wanders vertically all the time. It - well - seems like VSYNC is not properly recognised by the converter or something? Sync is present in the output. This is not the monitor not getting the sync. Monitor has a steady sync. I can adjust VHOLD to push it out of sync too. It looks like the output signal actually has the wandering screen. So the reason is somewhere on the input side There are no jumpers nor anything similar on the converter's PCB to change sensitivity/levels.. I tried and connected also a Plus/4 - exactly the same result.

Any clues?
