Kryoflux has a bit of a policy problem with this. They are concerned with two issues:

1. “Perfect” duplicates being passed off as forged originals
2. Imperfect images being written and possibly duplicated again

They built format verifiers so that images that were written could be rejected if they weren’t accurate. This solves #2 in most cases but leaves #1 as a problem.

I think they’ve changed over time and no longer emphasize #1 as being a blocking issue. So this means writing Mac images is probably only a matter of lack of developer time and interest. Since they are perfectionists about #2, they’ll want to get it right before releasing Mac support (if at all).
