Well, I don't know about anybody else, but my favorite DOS editor is 'E'
that came with PC-DOS 6.x/7.0. Especially the one that came with 7.0. It
had real nice block editing features and would allow you to have more than
one file open at a time. I'm not sure about your particular request, but I
wouldn't be surprised if it did exactly what you want it to do.
