At one point we put (every available) unit in a loop saying Gurple and
then left them on for a couple of days. The more the middle managers
bitched the more we insisted we were burning them in. After hearing the
word a few thousand times it gets implanted in your brain. As we would
then need to do something with the units for real they would leave the
Gurple Test Area, until one day there was one lonely unit sitting on a
bench saying gurple which sounded strange after having been part of a
cacophony.

After that we used to use the word randomly in meetings when talking to
those same middle managers that were annoyed when walking by the
hardware. Much like the Smurfs use the word smurf for anything, we used
Gurple.
