Frankly, I just remember that they existed from a presentation and Hannover
Messe 1981 Where some new chip were presented with the cbm 700. (first floor
of commodore booth)

The on ebay are marked  MOS  MPS6523  2871

I don’t remember exactly in what they were used I think it  was in one of
the B series too

Where was the 6523 used? I read somewhere you could use it in a 1551 since
it doesn't use the IRQ-capability of the 6525, but since the 1551 is running
at 2 MHz, it would have to be the 6523A.
