Hello Rainer,

I'd expect the problems to be because the C64 does not generate two
alternating half-frames, but only one of both (even or odd? I do not
remember.) Thus, the whole procedure and timing is not at the devices
would expect.

Now, if a device waits to get both half-frames in order to build a full
frame for VGA (or HDMI or whatever), then it will wait forever, as no
other half-frame will come through.

Thus, in this respect, I can imagine that cheaper devices might be
better than more expensive ones.

Another cause of problems might be the timing, which does not comply
completely to what would be expected (IIRC).

Regards,
Spiro.
