I was thinking about making an Arduino into a general purpose programmer for JTAG/Altera, etc. I got the idea from a $9 Altera programmer instead of the $250 Altera branded one. -----Original Message----- From: email@example.com [mailto:firstname.lastname@example.org] On Behalf Of Michal Pleban Sent: Monday, August 26, 2013 5:27 PM To: email@example.com Subject: Re: FPGA/CPLD different approach Hello! firstname.lastname@example.org wrote: >>> Like the "original" Altera MAX I guess? >> Yes. No. You need an ATMEL programmer for these (I picked one from Mouser) and ATMEL software (WinCUPL). However, I read somewhere that there is a software that converts Altera Quartus output files for MAX devices into JEDEC files for ATMEL chips. Regards, Michau.
