Once he has ebook ready it is only a minimum effort to prepare it for  print-on-demand, and basic service is usually at no-cost (only things like marketing and editor have to be paid).  Although I buy most technical books from O'Reilly as ebooks, I do like my vintage computing books as hard copy.
