 From my recollection (I used a 4032 and a 8032 back then), the 
characters on the 4032 are square and on the 8032 they are rectangular.

 From the way I remember it looks, I'd say they just doubled the pixel 
clock (and of course the memory access on the screen RAM) on the 8032 
compared to the 4032.
