I have a drive with that hooked up. It's connected to the LED pin of the VIA, and is active-low with a pullup. There is a potential issue if a disk is not present and the LED is turned on. In this case, the VIA will drive 5v straight to ground.

It's in c code so it's too complicated to figure out. I'll try to rewrite it in vb and asm.  ;-)

One clip is for +5v, other is for led line of VIA. I have a .txt file of the schematic but I'm traveling right now.
