Excellent read - thank you! And a top job finding that rather indirect  
method.

:-)

  In case of CPU daughterboard, all port lines are available directly  
off the CPU itself. VIC access to this ROM is a different beast.  
Because of that I am thinking of dropping the CHAROM support for VIC  
in the first version (provided it ever materialises) and focussing on  
the CPU visible ROMs first.
