Perhaps I lost some extra brain cells last night, or need another cup of coffee... what exactly is this for?

If it has an IEEE edge connector it won't plug into a PET, so this is not a replacement PET-IEEE cable. The Zoom Floppy already has an IEEE connector, and you can't just plug this on the back of a drive. Is it a male or female centronics connector? If female, the only thing I can see it doing is converting a PET-IEEE cable into an IEEE-IEEE cable. Am I missing something?
