I have one C64 that still has the original screws (all of them) and 
there I can't see a difference between the ones used for the case and 
the ones that hold the board in the case.

I took one of them to the hardware store and looked for the same or 
close enough screws.

What I found that is very hard to distinguish from the original one is a 
roundhead sheetmetal screw 2.9 x 9.5 mm (according to the label on the 
bin). Bought a few of them and they fit perfectly in the C64 that had a 
few screws missing.
