Remember that Richard's final goal is to get a reliable method
to transfer files and disk images from a PC to a 8250 floppy
drive, ideally using a tape recorder as an intermediate media.

Thus the COPY command to copy files between floppy drives, whether
it works across multiple devices or not, won't help him unless it
also has built-in support for Datasette...

I still think a PC64 parallel cable would be the cheapest and
fastest way to get going for transfer files to the 8250. Something
like an ZoomFloppy is more capable, but might involve more money
and a few weeks delivery time from the USA to the Netherlands.

To struggle with a tape recorder seems mostly like a proof of an
old concept, just because it "should be possible", not because it
is convenient in any way.
