Is the Datassette an important piece of hardware in your puzzle,
i.e. is it out of the question to use another solution?

If you have some spare parts like a Commodore userport connector,
bit of cable and a DB25 parallel port, you should be able to solder
together a PC64 cable and use -> cbmlink <- to have the CBM 4032
act like a slave, serving data from the 8250LP directly to your PC.

Actually, it seems cbmlink even supports a null modem cable if you
like to connect a CBM 700 to your PC instead of using the PET 4032.

While tape recorder seems like a cheap intermediate format, I think
over time the relatively small costs for a cable will be covered.

Best regards
