I *think* I used the "lynx8017" program from there, at least that's the
one I found in my working directory where I extracted those archives.

I did it in xpet (from VICE). VICE has some built-in recognition of Lynx
files, which acted a bit strangely, but didn't cause problems in the
end. (What it did was, iirc, that when the Lynx8017 program opened the
file to unpack, the emulator recognised it as well and started to copy
the contents to some anonymous new disk image).
